Questions people actually ask

What happens when I hit a limit?
Deploying a new app past your plan's limit is refused with a message naming the limit and what you are using. Everything already deployed keeps running and keeps redeploying — a limit never takes down something that is already live.
What does "always-on" mean, and why is it the expensive part?
Apps sleep when nothing is asking for them and wake on the next request, which costs us almost nothing. An always-on instance holds compute reserved around the clock, and that is what the paid plans are really buying. Bandwidth is the other one — it is a real per-gigabyte cost to us, which is why the included amounts are what they are and why the overage rate is printed above rather than discovered on an invoice.
Do I need a card to start?
No. The free plan needs no payment details. A card is required for the things whose cost is unbounded — custom domains, always-on instances, and anything beyond the included bandwidth.
Can I cancel?
Any time, from Manage billing in your workspace. You keep the paid plan until the end of the period you have already paid for, and then drop to Free rather than losing access.
Do you store my card?
No. Payment details go to Stripe directly from their checkout page and never reach this application. We store a customer id and a subscription status.
Where do my apps actually run?

Deployed apps run on the local Docker runtime in this build — not on AWS.
